Fan Data Sharing Agreement
BandAlert by ArtistOS
Last Updated: 2025-08-22
By enabling data sharing, I understand and agree to the following:
What This Means
When I opt in, BandAlert will share my contact information (name, email, and phone number) with bands I subscribe to. This helps bands connect with their fans directly for updates, promotions, and announcements beyond BandAlert's show notifications.
How Bands May Use My Information
Bands receiving my information may:
- Send promotional messages and updates about their music
- Add me to their mailing lists and fan databases
- Contact me about concerts, merchandise, and releases
- Share my information with their management, labels, or marketing teams
- Use my information for other music-related business purposes
Band Standards and Expectations
Bands receiving fan data through BandAlert are expected to:
- Use information only for music and performance-related communications
- Respect unsubscribe requests and privacy preferences
- Comply with anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM in US, CASL in Canada)
- Protect fan data with reasonable security measures
- Not sell fan information to unrelated third parties
I understand that while BandAlert expects these standards and may terminate bands that violate them, bands are ultimately responsible for their own data practices.
Important Things to Understand
- Band Control: Once shared, bands control my information according to their own privacy policies
- Direct Relationship: I'll need to contact bands directly to update or remove my information from their systems
- Permanent Transfer: Turning off data sharing stops future sharing but doesn't recall information already shared
- BandAlert's Role: BandAlert securely transfers my data but doesn't control how bands use it afterward
My Rights
- I can turn data sharing on or off anytime in my account settings or in the fan portal
- I can request a list of which bands received my information (available for 3 months)
- I can unsubscribe from BandAlert without affecting data already shared with bands
- I can report bands that misuse data to [email protected]
BandAlert's Commitments
BandAlert will:
- Transfer data securely using industry-standard encryption
- Maintain 3-month logs of data sharing activities
- Only share data with verified bands on our platform
- Remove bands from the platform for serious data misuse violations
- Never share my information for non-music related purposes
Limitations
- BandAlert cannot control how bands use my information once transferred
- BandAlert cannot retrieve or delete information already shared with bands
- Band communications are not monitored or filtered by BandAlert
- Standard text messaging and data rates still apply
Geographic Scope
This service is currently available in the United States and Canada only. My information may be shared with bands operating in these countries.
